Remodel: Remodeling a hundred year old water damaged house.

This was a big remodel project. This early 1900's home suffered heavy water damage from a busted upstairs water line that filled the house with water for days while the owners were not home. The remodel consisted of the upstairs master bedroom and bathroom, and the kitchen, dining room, bathroom, a bedroom and living room on the ground floor. Plaster repair was needed throughout the entire home, as well as new paint. Three new solid oak doors were installed and a few original doors were repainted. The kitchen got a new porcelain tile floor and ceramic tile backsplash. The bathroom floor was tiled as well. 3/4" Oak hardwood flooring was installed in the living room, dining room and upstairs bedroom and bathroom. All trim was either replaced or repainted.

The following are before and progress photos throughout the home.

Most of the carpet had already been removed before I started.

There was substantial plaster damage throughout the living room, kitchen and dining room.

All loose plaster was torn out, wire mesh was used on larger repairs.

Previous kitchen floor was linoleum

1/2" cement board was installed, and floor leveler is used in a sagging corner.

Remodel: vinyl floor, 10 new doors and trim, drywall repair, baseboard trim and more.

This project included the following. Installing new vinyl flooring. Updating 7 white hollow core doors with solid oak six panel doors, new entrance door and two six panel oak closet doors. All of the white trim was removed and replaced with oak. The home had eight electric base heathers that were removed. The drywall was repaired and walls were repainted. A very nice update to this home that added value and warmth.

The new vinyl floor will extend in to the living area directly behind the bar in the kitchen.

This pocket door was removed and the opening was cased in oak, see following photos.

1/4" subfloor was used to raise the living room floor up to the same level as the kitchen floor.

The oak doors and trim look great with the oak vinyl floor.

New hallway doors, new carpet will be installed once I am finished.
